My family loves international dishes packed with flavor and we have narrowed down our top 4 HelloFresh meal kit recipes below. These are recipes that we loved and would definitely order again.
Beef Bulgogi Bowls with Carrots, Pickled Cucumber & Sriracha Crema: This meal came together in less than 30 min thanks to the premade sauce and pre-chopped carrots. All we had to do was make the rice, cook the meat and carrots, marinate the cucumbers, and throw it all together in a delicious bowl.
Sizzling Hoisin Shrimp with Ginger Scallion Rice & Green Beans: The simple Hoisin marinade was a huge hit and packed with flavor. And for under 600 calories per serving, it’s a tasty go-to dinner. SHOP NOW >>
Sweet Chili Pork Bowls: This is another dish packed with flavor. We loved the sweet and semi-spicy sauce used in this recipe. One tip – brown the pork to get a nice crispy brown layer on the outside for more flavor!
Creamy Chicken Sausage & Kale Cavatappi: We loved the chicken sausage in this dish! It was packed with flavor and a nice change from pork sausage. We also really liked that this dish was packed with kale to add a little bit of healthiness to this cream and pasta dish. There was plenty for the two of us for dinner with some left over!
There are several other dishes that we enjoyed including the Sweet Ginger Pork Chops, Beef & Cheese Tostado’s, One-Pan Santa Fe Pork Tacos, Sesame Soy Pork bowls, and the Mexican Pork and Street Corn Tacos, but they didn’t quite make our top list. SHOP NOW >>
The Game Day Kit included recipes for BBQ Ribs, Loaded Potato Wedges, and Crispy Buffalo Onion Straws & Blue Cheese Sauce.
This meal kit, which actually makes 3 different appetizers, is a Homestyle Feast and is an additional $9.99/serving.
For two servings, the total price for this seasonal offering is $37.96. For us, this fed two adults and one child and was very convenient, and less expensive than ordering bbq takeout for the Big Game.
The ribs were wonderful and arrive fully cooked in the sauce. We amped up the sauce with the included seasoning packets and warmed them up in the oven for about 20 minutes. On the package, it says 3 servings, and our family of 3 devoured every last rib.
I would order these as a protein add-on as they were really tasty and super easy to make. SHOP NOW >>
The loaded potato wedges were seasoned with a Southwest seasoning, baked for about 25 min, then topped with shredded pepper jack cheese until melted. The kit included ingredients for a simple lime crema (lime + sour cream + water) and pico (tomato, onion, lime juice, and jalapeno).
I wasn’t sure that I would like these wedges with pico, but they tasted great and were something that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. SHOP NOW >>
Finally, the onion straws rounded out this seasonal kit. We liked that the tempura batter didn’t add a lot of bread to the onions so that you could actually taste the onion flavor, but didn’t love that you had to fry them all in oil in batches. I would much rather bake them. They were good dipped in the blue cheese sauce, but our least favorite of the three.
I definitely recommend trying a seasonal kit or box if the recipes look good to you. They are a fun and easy way to make your holiday or special occasion stress-free. SHOP NOW >>
We tried two of the HelloFresh limited edition Ready Made Meals found in the Market. This included the Turkey Lasagna-Style Mac ’n’ Cheese and Coconut Cauliflower & Bean Curry.
Ready Made Meals start at $8.99/each and are in line with other Ready Made “prepared meals” that we have tried.
I have to say that I was surprised by how good both of these meals tasted. They were both one serving, ready in 3 min in the microwave, and packed with flavor.
My only complaint is that the Turkey Lasagna pasta dish had a whopping 800 calories! I should’ve checked before I ordered. If you are on a diet be sure to read the label information before you order.
HelloFresh usually offers 2 Ready Made Meals in the Market. You can see them after you have selected your weekly meal kits. SHOP NOW >>
HelloFresh offers 30 meal kit recipes on their menu each and every week. In addition, they have over 20 items in their Market including lunch sandwiches, salads, soups, protein, dessert, Ready Made meals, flatbreads, breakfast, and more!

Did you know that HelloFresh tests each recipe 45 times before adding it to the menu?
This ensures that recipes are clear as well as delicious. The instructions in our recipes were easy to follow and the skill level required, in our opinion, would be entry-level to intermediate.
Every recipe card is included in your box.
Each recipe includes a list of ingredients, cooking tips, a list of what you will need from home, and the actual recipe with 6 steps.
HelloFresh recipes do require prepping, chopping, and usually several pans, but the step-by-step instructions walk you through everything.
Yes, HelloFresh is worth it! (for most) If you are looking for easy recipes with almost all of the ingredients included for less than the cost of going out to dinner or takeout, then HelloFresh is worth it. And with a new customer coupon trying HelloFresh is definitely worth it! New customers get 16 Free Meals + 3 Gifts + Free Shipping >>
If you want to save time by not having to look for recipes or go to the grocery store, then HelloFresh could be worth it.
If you are looking to spend less than what you currently spend on groceries, are not looking to prep and cook dinner, or are feeding a large family of 6+, then HelloFresh is probably not worth it for you.
Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon Review
With 30 meal kits recipes to choose from each week with additional Market add-ons like prepared meals, lunch, breakfast, dessert, and proteins, HelloFresh maintains fresh and seasonal recipes that are sure to please everyone in your family. They are becoming your one-stop shop for all of your weekly meal needs.
We love the variety that HelloFresh offers. Each week they have something for everyone – from customer favorites to burgers, several different seafood and vegetarian recipes, along with the standard pork, chicken, beef, and pasta. Unfortunately, you can’t see the full menu with all of these awesome Marketplace add-ons unless you are logged into your HelloFresh account.
We also love that HelloFresh has partnered with TerraPass to offset 100% of its carbon emissions. This is a great start and we look forward to seeing more planet-friendly from HelloFresh in the future.
The HelloFresh recipes lean more toward American, home-cooking, comfort food with fewer authentic international or global flavors as compared to some other meal kits. I’m sure that a majority of meal kit users enjoy these flavors, for us, though, we are more adventurous eaters and like to mix up our dinners to try new and interesting recipes. We will order HelloFresh when the menu fits our tastes and will skip it when it doesn’t.
I definitely recommend trying HelloFresh meal kits if the recipes look good to you as it will make cooking for the week so much easier and will introduce new recipes to your dinner rotation. In addition, the seasonal and holiday meal kits are a fun and easy way to make your holiday or special occasion stress-free.
