Personally, I like to send food-related gifts because they are practical (everyone eats), can be personalized to your recipient, and are always tasty. Maybe it’s because I like to receive food gifts 🙂 So when we discovered Spoonful of Comfort we had to try a soup gift basket to see if they are worth sending to friends and family.
We’ve tried several different soup and cookies gift baskets for our Spoonful of Comfort reviews, including the
Our first two boxes included a 64oz jar or bag of soup and our most recent box included 2 x 32oz containers of soup.
All of the boxes that we reviewed also included a half dozen cookies, a half dozen dinner rolls, a soup ladle, and a personalized note card. Get 10% OFF with code MEALFINDS10 >>
The first thing that I noticed when I opened the box was how beautiful the packaging was. It is so pretty and comes with thoughtful quotes throughout.
In addition, all care packages include a personalized note.
Yes! We tried three Spoonful of Comfort soups including the Gourmet Clam Chowder, Italian Wedding Soup, and Garden Vegetable Soup, and would order all of them again!
For our reviews, we have tried the Gourmet Clam Chowder, Italian Wedding Soup, and Garden Vegetable Soup.
The Gourmet Clam Chowder was everything that you would want from this hearty soup. It was creamy and rich with a wonderful New England-style clam chowder taste filled with chunks of clam and potatoes. Unfortunately, clam chowder is a seasonal selection and is not available year-round.
We heated the soup on the stovetop for about 10 minutes or so, but you can also warm servings in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. Get 10% OFF with code MEALFINDS10 >>
I added cracked black pepper and the oyster crackers that were included. My husband opted for Tabasco and my son decided to soak his rolls in the clam chowder. However you decide to eat this soup, you will not be disappointed.
We found that the soup could easily feed 4 people if that was all you were having for dinner and could feed more if you added sandwiches or sides.
The ladle is a nice touch and something that I actually needed.
We also loved the Garden Vegetable soup as it was packed full of vegetables with a slightly sweet taste from the corn. This soup was much lighter than the clam chowder that we had tried earlier in the year, but still very filling.
In addition, at only 80 calories per serving and no major allergens, this soup will fit into almost any diet! Get 10% OFF with code MEALFINDS10 >>
The Italian Wedding soup was another hit! We loved the tiny beef and pork meatballs along with fresh spinach and tiny little pasta balls.
With 2 x 32oz containers, a small family can easily enjoy one container and freeze the other for up to 6 months OR a larger family can enjoy both containers.
The rolls we heated in the oven for 5 min to get them nice and warm and toasted.
We added salted butter and dipped them into our soups. Delish! Get 10% OFF with code MEALFINDS10 >>
Yes! We tried three Spoonful of Comfort cookies including the chocolate chip cookies, triple chocolate chunk cookies, and the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and would order all of them again!
All three cookie flavors by Spoonful of Comfort were filled with large pieces of chocolate and my family really enjoyed them.
The chocolate chip cookies were traditional chocolate chip cookies with big chunks of chocolate in each bite.
The triple chocolate chip cookies had a chocolate cookie base with double the chocolate chunks for a chocolate-lovers dream.
Finally, the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies had a nice pumpkin spice flavor with yummy chocolate chunks. A perfect fall dessert after a nice hot cup of soup 🙂
How could you go wrong with chocolate cookies?
Tip: Put the cookies in the microwave for 10 seconds for a warm, gooey dessert.
Spoonful of Comfort offers 4+ additional cookie flavors depending on the time of year including oatmeal raisin, sugar cookie, vegan and gluten-free chocolate chip, lemon, ginger spice, and snickerdoodle in addition to the chocolate chip and triple chocolate chunk. Spoonful of Comfort delivers ready-to-eat gourmet soup gift baskets and care packages as well as cookie packages and other seasonal gifts to friends and family who need a little ray of sunshine.
Spoonful of Comfort is a great pick if you are looking for a unique, thoughtful, and practical food gift. Their gourmet soups and cookies are delicious and sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.
And while shipping isn’t included in some packages, the cost was only around $15, which isn’t bad for shipping a perishable package.
We also love the seasonal care packages, like the Summer S’mores package, and all of the “extras” that can be added to your gift to personalize it for any occasion.
Compared to other companies that deliver soup gifts, we have found Spoonful of Comfort to have more attractive and thoughtful packaging, fresher soup and cookies, and more “extras” to personalize your gift.
We recommend Spoonful of Comfort to anyone looking for a tasty and unique food gift, for those looking for a holiday Corporate Gift option, and for those looking to send a beautiful soup gift basket to friends and family.
