These snacks did not disappoint. While we preferred some snacks over others, we genuinely liked them all and were impressed by not only the taste and variety but also the quality and uniqueness of the ingredients. SHOP NOW >>
Banana Maca Energy Bites
We opened these energy bites while on one of our favorite hikes. There are three bites included in each plastic-wrapped pack; my husband and I each had one and split the third. He’s a much bigger fan of banana flavors than I am so he really liked how “banana forward” these bites were, which is likely due to the banana paste that is used.
I really appreciated the minimal number of ingredients, making it easy to see exactly what was in the bites. If you’re a fan of banana flavors, I think you’d really enjoy these bites. These are also great to throw in your pack for a hike, a bike ride, or just for a tasty, low sugar snack during the day. SHOP NOW >>
Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix
There is a lot of good stuff going on in this trail mix bag. I really like the variety of items in the mix which included an assortment of dried fruit (blueberries, bing cherries, cranberries, golden raisins), roasted seeds (sunflower, pumpkin) and nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts), and just the right amount of dark semi-sweet chocolate drops. When eaten together, it’s an enjoyable, balanced bite. SHOP NOW >>
Peanut Butter Maca Cookies
I’ll start by saying that I don’t tend to gravitate towards peanut butter cookies. If there’s an assortment of options in front of me, I go for the chocolate chip cookie. That said, these peanut butter maca cookies surprised me. They aren’t too peanut buttery (which is usually my issue with traditional peanut butter cookies). In fact, they almost taste a bit like a butter cookie to me with an essence peanut butter, which is quite nice. I also like the crunch these cookies have.
Something to note is that these cookies are actually quite small (less than an inch in diameter) so perhaps a more appropriate name for these would be “peanut butter maca cookie bites.” But regardless, they’re still deliciously satisfying, especially when those cravings for something sweet come calling. Lemon Turmeric Cookies
Don’t let turmeric’s reputation for being bitter prevent you from trying these. These tasty, sweet, lemony cookies were my favorite of the two cookies in my box. Great crunch, great flavor and a great size for snacking. Size-wise, they are very similar in size to the peanut butter cookies so more of a cookie bite than a full cookie.
Also, it might be the Cream of Tartar used but there is a bit of a mouth coating that I experienced after taste-testing a few of these but nothing off-putting. SHOP NOW >>
Smoky BBQ Lentil Loops
I am quite literally snacking on these as I write this and it is taking some willpower to stop myself from mindlessly eating the whole bag. I feel the same way with the Aged Cheddar and Sweet Jalapeno Lentil Loops.
These Smoky BBQ Lentil Loops do indeed have a sweet, smoky flavor with just a hint of spice – but the spice is subtle. I’m very sensitive to spice as my palette just can’t take heat, however, I had no problem happily snacking on these. They are delicious and definitely a great alternative to the rather unhealthy BBQ chip options out there. SHOP NOW >>
Aged Cheddar Lentil Loops
I’m a sucker for anything with cheese, so when I saw these in the box, I clapped my hands with glee. And they did not disappoint. While I enjoyed all the “loops” (named for their spiraled shape), these were my favorite.
They are tasty, crunchy, delightful bites with just the right amount of cheesy flavor. So good. SHOP NOW >>
Sweet Jalapeno Lentil Loops
As noted above with the BBQ Lentil Loops, eating spicy foods is not an enjoyable experience for me, so I was a bit cautious taking my first bite of these loops. Fortunately, for such a sensitive spice girl, the heat element these loops promise didn’t linger too long. I was able to snack on a few of these and also taste their sweet, salty and sour flavor profiles. While these loops were not my favorite of the bunch, my spicy food-loving spouse selected them as the winner in his book.
Something to note about all the loop options: initially, they taste a bit dry. This is likely due to the ingredients used, which tend to be cleaner, healthier, and therefore, “lighter.” But it’s definitely a different texture than most will likely be used to. We really liked them nonetheless! SHOP NOW >>
We received the following protein bars: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with Maca, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip with Ashwagandha, Sea Salt Brownie with Ashwagandha.
My husband and I are both pretty active so we go through quite a few “protein bar” varieties in our house. We both taste-tested these and our feedback was very similar.
Our biggest complaint with most “protein” bars is that they are far more sugar than quality protein. Because of that, most are also overly sweet and use high-fructose corn syrup. Or, they’re so hard and dry that you have to be careful not to break a tooth when biting into them.
Not these bars. We were both pleasantly surprised by both the level of sweetness (just right for our tastes), the texture (soft and chewy but not too gummy), and the fact that these include quality sources of protein (peanut butter and egg white protein).
That said, if you are someone who prefers your protein or energy bars to be on the sweeter side, these might be a bit too “savory” for you. But would definitely recommend taste-testing a few. SHOP NOW >>
NatureBox offers some seriously satisfying snacks. I appreciate the effort they’ve put into creating snacks that are not only tasty, but that also accommodate a variety of dietary needs and feature quality, nutritionally beneficial ingredients.
For people who love to snack, want healthy options, especially for when they’re on the go, and who care about what they are putting into their bodies, NatureBox is definitely worth trying. And if you get the Loops, I challenge you to not eat them all in one sitting. SHOP NOW >>
