Cupcake by Design says that cupcakes can be stored at room temperature for 2-4 days, in the refrigerator for 5-7 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Cupcake toppers can be stored in their plastic bags at room temperature or in the refrigerator or freezer.
We stored our cupcakes in the refrigerator for 2 days and then removed them from the refrigerator around 6 hours before eating. They were moist and did not dry out.

Your Cupcake by Design cupcakes will arrive frozen or semi-frozen in a very sturdy box with ice.
You can store them at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer depending on when you plan on enjoying them.
Salted Dulce de Leche Delight: I was most looking forward to this cupcake and it did not disappoint. I loved the caramel flavor of the dulce de leche cupcake base, buttercream frosting, and drizzle, and they were not overly sweet. Adding the flaky sea salt really made this cupcake stand out!
Triple Chocolate: This cupcake is a chocolate lover’s dream! A rich chocolate cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate drizzle. We added some of the flaky sea salt from the Slated Dulce de Leche cupcakes to the top and they were a hit!
Vanilla Cloud: The Vanilla Cloud cupcake had a vanilla cupcake base with vanilla frosting and was the simplest of the pack. They tasted fine, but there was nothing really special about them.
Birthday Sprinkles: This cupcake screams Happy Birthday! With the bright blue vanilla buttercream frosting, rainbow sprinkles, and vanilla confetti cupcake the Birthday Sprinkles cupcake will bring a festive touch to any birthday celebration. This cupcake tasted like the Vanilla Cloud, but is a lot more fun to look at!
Red Velvet Rush: This red velvet cupcake tasted like authentic red velvet cake and had cream cheese buttercream frosting. We liked the notes of chocolate in the cake but wished that there was more of a cream cheese taste in the frosting.
Lemon Dream: The Lemon Dream cupcake consisted of a lemon cake and a creamy lemon cream cheese buttercream frosting. It was bright and lemony, a perfect ending to a Spring or Summer party. Unlike the Red Velvet Rush, we actually didn’t want more cream cheese flavor in the frosting as it might have overpowered the yummy lemon flavor. SHOP NOW >>

In addition, we recently saw a seasonal topper of colorful Cadbury Easter Eggs. These were priced slightly higher than the non-seasonal cupcake toppers and were available for a limited time.

Cupcake by Design cupcake toppers are $4 for a pack of one dozen (12) themed toppers. You can not purchase cupcake toppers without purchasing cupcakes and you can not add on additional toppers.
You can select up to 2 cupcake topper styles per one dozen cupcakes.
TIP: We did notice that we received 2 packs of toppers, each with 7 toppers inside. I don’t know if this is a mistake, but it was nice to have lots of topper options!
We also noticed that when you select a cupcake with no topper you have the option to select up to 2 topper styles for $4. So if you are interested in multiple toppers, you may want to consider navigating the site to the naked cupcakes and then selecting your toppers.

We like that these standard-size cupcakes are shipped fresh and delivered nationwide and that they are reasonably priced at around $3.25 per cupcake. We also like that you can add fun cupcake toppers for various occasions adding a bit of fun and color to your dessert. Ordering up to 8 weeks in advance is a nice feature and great for those who like to plan ahead.
And while we enjoyed the taste of our Cupcake by Design cupcakes, the shipping fee is very expensive. The toppers were a nice touch, but we wish there were more styles to choose from.
We recommend Cupcake by Design cupcakes to those looking to add a special dessert to a party or gathering, those that don’t have gourmet cupcakes options locally, and those who are close to a Cupcake By Design store so that they can skip the high shipping fee and pick them up. SHOP NOW >>
