Freshly is a weekly prepared meal delivery service that brings fresh, not frozen, meals to your door. They believe that eating right should be easy for everyone.
Freshly’s prepared meals are fully cooked, so all you need to do is reheat and enjoy. They are also packed with healthy and nutritious whole foods leaving behind artificial ingredients, preservatives, gluten, and added sugars.
In addition to prepared meals, Freshly also offers sides and proteins to customers starting with their second order.
The cost of Freshly meals is between $8.99 – $11.79 per serving depending on the number of meals you order each week.
Freshly has meal plans include:
In addition, Freshly offers proteins, like steak and chicken, as well as sides like mac and cheese. *Any applicable sales tax will appear at checkout.
Freshly delivers to most areas within the Continental United States.
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout and are based on order size and delivery location.
For our Freshly reviews, we’ve ordered many different meals across their extensive menu including the Korean-Style Shrimp, the Lebanese-Style Beef Meatballs, Sausage Baked Penne, Steak Peppercorn, Chicken Tikka Masala, Homestyle Chicken with Mac & Cheese, Salsa Verde Chicken Enchilada, Flame-Seared Top Blade Steak, Pork Carnitas, Pork Chile Colorado, Enchilada Power Bowl, Cauliflower Shell Beef Bolognese, and Beef & Broccoli Bowl.
Freshly meals are healthy and gluten-free, around 13oz each with between 300-650 calories, last around 3-5 days in your fridge, and are heated in the microwave in around 3 minutes.
I love that Freshly meals, in addition to being full of healthy ingredients, are all low in calories. I just hate seeing a meal that looks tasty only to find out that it has 1200 calories.
The second thing that I love is that the meals are a single serving. This is perfect for when our son has sports practice and needs to eat at 4 pm or if my husband or I am working late and we want to eat something healthy, but don’t want to make a big dinner.
Unlike frozen prepared meals, Freshly meals are fresh and therefore only have a shelf-life in the fridge of 4-5 days. This can be good and bad. It’s good because they don’t use preservatives, but it can be bad if you purchase meals and for some reason are unable to eat them quickly.
Freshly does say that you can freeze their meals and add more cooking time in the microwave when you are reheating, but we haven’t tried this.
Reheating Freshly meals is quick and easy. Just 3 minutes in the microwave and you have a healthy dinner, or lunch, ready to enjoy. We recommend stopping halfway through the time in the microwave for a quick stir as it helps more evenly cook the meals.
You’re probably thinking, but are they good? Great question!
All of the Freshly meals that we tried were very tasty, but the portion size, around 13oz, was on the small side for my husband who is a big eater. He said that he could eat two of some of the meals. I would keep your appetite in mind when ordering.
Freshly launched FreshlyFit keto-style meals as a separate site and then decided to combine meals with the Freshly site to give customers more options and make it easier to find the meals you want for you and your family.
FreshlyFit meals are gluten-free, carb-conscious, and packed with protein to provide you with clean fuel for your day.
We tried the FreshlyFit Naked Bison Burger and Protein-Packed Chicken Parm.
The Protein-Packed Chicken Parm came with a side of garlicky broccoli and tasted wonderful. For me, the broccoli needed a little salt and pepper, but the flavor was really good.
The broccoli wasn’t soggy out of the microwave and the chicken parm, while not crisp, had a nice crust with a cheesy tomato sauce taste. This meal was plenty for me for dinner and would be a bit large for lunch. At only 380 calories and 42 grams of protein, this was a tasty, filling, and healthy meal that I have ordered several times.
The Naked Bison Burger itself tasted good, but my husband felt that the portion size was on the small side and that the veggies needed salt and pepper.
The Freshly menu of almost 40+ weekly rotating dishes caters to a variety of dietary preferences, with all meals free of gluten and peanuts.
In addition, meals are free from refined sugar, hydrogenated oils, and MSG with Freshly opting for whole foods that are less processed and more nutritious.
Each meal is between 12 – 13oz with 300 – 650 calories.
On average, the Freshly weekly menu includes:
Freshly believes that eating right should be easy for everyone. They make it easy to enjoy healthy prepared meals with less sugar, fewer processed ingredients, and no gluten in minutes.
We were pleasantly surprised with the overall taste, quality of ingredients, and environmentally-friendly packaging. These freshly prepared meals are super convenient, easy to reheat in the microwave, and the weekly menu offers something for everyone.
And while the portion size can be small for some meals, veggies needed salt and pepper, and the shrimp was a little rubbery, the meals tasted great. Before you order, remember that meals will last in the fridge for around 5 days. Be sure to order what you can eat during that time.
Compared to other prepared meal services, Freshly is in the middle of the range for the price (depending on how many meals you order each week).
We would recommend Freshly for anyone looking for gluten-free prepared meals, those looking for quick, healthy lunch or dinner options, and those who want to eat less sugar and fewer preservatives. Give Freshly a try using the new customer coupon so that you can enjoy Freshly meals for yourself!
