Ritual Zero Proof Tequila Alternative is said to have a “grassy flavor, smoky aroma and bright fire of tequila, without the alcohol or calories.”
The bottle lists the ingredients as Filtered Water, Natural Flavors, Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Salt, Caramel Color, Sodium Benzoate & Potassium Sorbate as Preservatives.
The natural flavors listed on the label include Blue Agava Flower, Mexican Lime, Tropical Guava, Cracked Sea Salt, Charred Oak, Mesquite Smoke, Black Peppercorn, Capsicum Fruit, Prickly Ash, and Green Bell Pepper.
You will notice cane sugar on the label, but 0 calories are listed under the Nutrition Facts. Each serving has around 2 calories, but because you round up on nutrition labels that’s why you see the zero.
So does Ritual Zero Proof Tequila taste like Tequila?
Ritual Zero Proof Tequila is the highest-rated spirit alternative in the world, with 98 Points, and definitely tasted the most like liquor to me.
When I tasted this Tequila Alternative straight out of the bottle, I smelled a slightly smokey margarita. It tasted smokey and slightly sweet with notes of citrus.
The Ritual Zero Proof Tequila had the most “burn” and was, for me, the most similar to the real thing and my favorite.
When mixed with lemon juice, agave, and sparkling water the flavor and burn were lost a bit, though. But when I just mixed it with sparkling water, the flavor and burn came through.
I definitely recommend it!

Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey Alternative is described as “soft and smooth, round on the tongue, with a soul-warming finish.”
The bottle lists the ingredients as Filtered Water, Natural Flavors, Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Salt, Caramel Color, Sodium Benzoate & Potassium Sorbate as Preservatives.
The natural flavors listed on the label include American Oak, Madagascar Vanilla, Capsicum Fruit, Sugar Floss, Mesquite Smoke, Warm Caramel, Stone Fruit, Black Peppercorn, Prickly Ash, and Toasted Spices.
What does the Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey taste like?
I found the Ritual Zero Proof Whiskey smelled like sweet, spicy, oaky whiskey. It tasted sweet and smokey with almost a star anise taste and a slight burn at the end.
The Ritual Whiskey had a really nice flavor when mixed, but lost some of the burn. I would definitely recommend it!

Ritual Zero Proof Rum Alternative “has all the warm vanilla, toasted spice, and velvety decadence of dark rum.”
The bottle lists the ingredients as Filtered Water, Natural Flavors, Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Salt, Caramel Color, Sodium Benzoate & Potassium Sorbate as Preservatives.
The natural flavors listed on the label include Madagascar Vanilla, Molasses Star Anise, Ripe Banana, Bitter Orange, Tupelo Honey, Toasted Cinnamon, Fresh Ginger, Clove, and Charred Apricot.
How does the Ritual Zero Proof Rum taste?
I found the Ritual Zero Proof Rum smelled like a deep dark rum. It tasted sweet, with a vanilla clove flavor, and burn at the end.
The Ritual Rum held its wonderful spiced-filled flavor better than the smooth Gin when mixed with Coke, but lost most of the burn.
I liked this non alcoholic rum more than I expected because the added spices really elevate the flavor.
I would definitely recommend it!
Like the others, I recommend shaking the bottle well before use. SHOP NOW >>
Ritual Zero Proof Gin Alternative is described as “bright and refreshing, with a crisp bite that mixes beautifully.”
The bottle lists the ingredients as Filtered Water, Natural Flavors, Cane Sugar, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate & Potassium Sorbate as Preservatives.
The natural flavors listed on the label include Siberian Pine, Coriander Berries, Angelica Root, Sweet Basil, English Cucumber, Juniper Berries, Green lemongrass, Capsicum Fruit, Prickly Ash, and Peppermint Leaf.
You will notice cane sugar on the label, but 0 calories are listed under the Nutrition Facts. Each serving has around 2 calories, but because you round up on nutrition labels that’s why you see the zero.
How does the Ritual Zero Proof Gin taste?
I found the Ritual Zero Proof Gin to smell bright and floral. It tasted crisp, with notes of cucumber, and very smooth. I did not get a burn at the end.
The Ritual Gin lost some flavor when mixed with tonic, was very smooth, and I didn’t taste a burn.
I’m torn on this one as it has a nice floral, cucumber flavor and is very smooth, but is easily overpowered. I recommend mixing with things like tonic or sparkling water that don’t have a strong taste of their own.
I recommend shaking the bottle well before use. SHOP NOW >>

I love that Ritual Zero Proof liquor alternatives are Allergen Free, Gluten Free, Non GMO, and Keto-Friendly making them perfect for almost any lifestyle. In addition, they are low-calorie with very little added sugar and no artificial flavors so that you can enjoy them without worry.
And while I enjoyed trying out the Ritual Zero Proof non alcoholic liquor alternatives, they did lose some flavor when mixed with strong mixers like lemon juice and also lost some of that burn.
Does Ritual Zero Proof taste the same as liquor? No, but it’s in the ballpark. In my opinion, these non alcoholic spirits have captured the main flavor profile and some of the burn in their alcohol alternatives.
I recommend Ritual Zero Proof alcohol alternatives to anyone pregnant or trying to become pregnant, those taking a break from alcohol, and those who want to enjoy the cocktail experience without the hangover and want to enjoy a more authentic-tasting mocktail at home. SHOP NOW >>
