For our SeaBear reviews, we received the Pacific Northwest Crab Roll Kit, the Seafood Mac & Cheese Trio, and the Lemon Pepper Sockeye Fillet. We were really excited to try SeaBear because we love seafood (I eat a pescatarian diet) and are always looking for new and interesting seafood dinner options. Shop now >>
The Lemon Pepper Sockeye Salmon Fillet weighed 24 oz. (1.5 lbs) and could easily feed 8 people! Each 3 oz serving is 140 calories and packed with healthy fats. The filet was about a foot long and had both thick and thin sections in the cut.
I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the fillet. It’s perfect for a large family or group of friends.
Ingredients: Sockeye salmon, extra virgin olive oil, and SeaBear signature Lemon Pepper Seasoning

Although there were no cooking directions included, we quickly looked them up online. You can cook the sockeye salmon in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or on the grill for about 12-15 min. We love how convenient it was to have the salmon already seasoned and marinated.
Just pop in the oven or grill.
We found the seasoning to be very good, but a couple of cubes of butter on top and maybe another squeeze of lemon would’ve enhanced the flavor even more. The quality of the fish is unmatched by anything I’ve eaten from a grocery store. Shop now >>
We wish SeaBear included cooking instructions, tips on additional seasonings, or specialized dish-pairings directions with this piece of fish. Shop now >>
We received three 1 lb seafood mac and cheese trays featuring different types of seafood including smoked salmon, smoked scallop, and Dungeness crab. The mac and cheese meals are made using locally crafted penne pasta and are tossed in an incredibly rich 4-cheese sauce made with mozzarella, parmesan, white cheddar, and Monterey Jack. Each 1lb-tray can easily feed 4 or more people as a side dish or entree.
Price: $65 for all three dishes
The seafood mac and cheese is pre-cooked and can be reheated in a 375-degree oven for around 35 minutes. Simply place the oven-safe containers onto a baking sheet and pop them directly into the oven.
When eating a super-rich, creamy pasta dish I prefer GF pasta noodles in order to delay that “stuffed” feeling too early on in the meal so I can enjoy every last bite! Hopefully, SeaBear will come out with some gluten-free options soon.
Even though every mac and cheese had the same 4 cheese sauce we tasted different notes in each thanks to the seafood. I believe it would have been more interesting to include unique cheeses in each dish to make this trio a bit more interesting. Complimentary cheese tasting notes to the adjacent seafood would have expanded our taste pallet and food-science knowledge.
The crab mac and cheese was our least favorite. We felt that the crab taste was too powerful and overpowered the mac and cheese. We would have preferred to have less overall crab taste in the dish. Crab slightly dried out the rest of the pasta since the cheese stuck onto the lumps of crab meat instead of the pasta. Shop now >>
This was actually our first time trying smoked scallops. I love traditionally cooked scallops for their taste and amazing omega-3 fatty acids. We were very surprised by how much we loved this dish. I don’t usually think scallops go well with cheese but the flavors meshed together wonderfully. The subtle notes of citrus in the scallops complemented the creamy cheese beautifully.
The smoked salmon was the moistest and way more creamy than the rest of the dishes. Since salmon is a fattier fish, after baking we saw a lot more oil. The dish basically transformed into something reminiscent of scampi sauce instead of mac and cheese, but still tasted wonderful. Shop now >>
In the crab roll kit, you receive half a pound of juicy, plump Dungeness Crab Meat, 8 Potato Slider Rolls, 6oz Red King Crab Dip, 3 oz Golden Glen Creamery (Bow, WA) Garlic & Sea Salt Butter, 4 – 1.5oz Tim’s Cascade Original Potato Chips, and 4 deli trays. Shop now >>
Price: $79
First, I soaked the potato buns in garlic and sea salt butter and toasted them in a toaster oven for about 7 minutes at 375 degrees. I decided to add tomatoes to the bottom bun and sprinkled scallions on top of the tomato. Then, I spread a heaping spoonful of crab dip on the top bun. Finally, I tossed on the sweet crab meat, and voila!
Put your roll halves together, add a side of potato chips and enjoy!
These were my absolute favorite out of the box! While enjoying the crab rolls I felt transported to an ocean-side restaurant. Pre-buttering the rolls before toasting ensured a super moist and great-tasting base for the center part of the sandwich. They truly melted in your mouth. The Dungeness crab meat included in the meal kit were the best parts of the crab – huge claw pieces and not a single shell to worry about!
We shared our seafood with friends and everyone appreciated the SeaBear “experience” and enjoyed eating with a group! The Sockeye filet and mac and cheeses were super easy to prepare. I was slightly intimidated by the Crab roll kit but was surprised by how easy they were to put together. Shop now >>
SeaBear delivers delicious wild seafood right to your kitchen. SeaBear is committed to serving the best tasting, super-premium, and naturally sourced seafood out there. Thrill your friends, family, and dinner guests with SeaBear’s unforgettable seafood dinner experiences.
We loved the portion sizes! For the price, taste, and experience you could host an entire seafood feast and feed up to 8 people with every dish. I enjoyed tasting seafood sourced from trusted fishermen and smoking experts from the same region, especially the SeaBear salmon.
And while the seafood mac and cheese dishes were delicious we would have preferred to have different varieties in cheese and pasta, including a gluten-free option. The same attention to detail and extras included in the Crab Roll Kit, like cooking directions, potato chips, and trays, would have been nice for every dish. Even if there were no extra food items, I would have liked to have more information on cooking, pairings, and sourcing.
We would recommend SeaBear to seafood lovers, those interested in trying different types of seafood, and the seafood curious. Hosting a seafood feast with SeaBear is easy and exciting. Serve award-winning seafood that your guests are guaranteed to love. Shop now >>
