Veestro delivers healthy, gluten-free, and vegan prepared meals made with organic ingredients and without GMOs or preservatives to your door saving you time, saving the environment, and helping you live longer.
Veestro meals are $13.99 each.
Vestro shipping is between $7.95 to $12.95 per box.
Veestro believes that you don’t have to be a vegan to get the benefits from eating more plants and that even eating one plant-based meal per week (hello Meatless Mondays!) can make a difference for you and the planet.
According to Veestro, eating a plant-based diet can not only help you maintain a healthy weight but can also help lower your risk of developing a chronic disease like Type 2 diabetes.
In addition to making you healthier, eating more plants is good for the environment as it takes a lot less water to grow plants than it does to raise animals for food and produces fewer greenhouse gases. It’s a win-win!
If you are already eating a vegan diet, Veestro is a convenient way to get healthy, plant-based meals delivered to your door. If you are new to plant-based eating, Veestro is here to help you develop this new habit and to introduce you to delicious vegan meals.
For our Veestro meal delivery reviews, we tried the Breakfast Burrito, Spanish Torta, Red Curry with Tofu, South Indian Coconut Stew, Chick’n Nuggets, and the Tortilla Chili.
Most meals give you 2-3 methods for reheating including the oven, stovetop, and microwave. Some indicate a “Recommended” reheating method for optimal texture and taste. For most meals, we went with the microwave as it’s the easiest and fastest method, but for the Chick’n Nuggets, we used the recommended method, the oven, as we wanted a more crispy texture.
One thing to watch out for is that some of the meals, like the Spanish Torta, have to be thawed in the fridge overnight and then heated. This isn’t a huge deal, but we had to choose something different for lunch as we didn’t read this ahead of time.
Our favorite meal of the week was the Red Curry Tofu. This dish was very flavorful, with a creamy red curry taste and a little kick of spice, and was very filling. I also liked the tofu squares vs the crumbles found in some of the other meals.
We enjoyed the Chick’n Nuggets, and as I mentioned above made them in the oven so that they were extra crispy. The texture was pretty similar to a meat-based nugget, the outside was crispy, and the flavor was good. We especially liked the bbq sauce that came with the nuggets.
We also enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito and found it very filling, though the sauce was a little bitter for my taste.
The Spanish Torta was our second favorite meal, tied with the Tortilla Chilli. I loved the plant-based cheese in the torta, it was super creamy and paired well with the perfect lunch on a cool fall day.
The South Indian Coconut Stew was also delicious. Again, we loved the cubbed tofu, with a generous portion of the aromatic South Indian stew with a side of brown rice. This dish was packed with flavor and very filling.
We love that Veestro meals are preservative-free, they can be kept up to 8-10 weeks in the freezer, or 3-5 days in the refrigerator. For us, this means that we can place an order and stock up for a couple of weeks as we like to have healthy, easy lunches and dinners on hand for when we don’t have time to cook.
Plus, you won’t have to worry about food going bad or wasting food because you can freeze what you can’t eat right after delivery.
Veestro has just released their new Holiday meals that are perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas and everything in-between this Holiday season. Choose from Herb Crusted Turk’y Dinner, Turk’y Scaloppini Dinner, Cauliflower Milanese Dinner, or a Holiday Shepherd’s pie.
You can order these Holiday dinners a la carte and all dinners serve 1 person.
Veestro delivers on its promise of bringing healthy, plant-based prepared meals to your door. And for the same cost or less than takeout, between $9.90-$11.70 per meal, and far healthier this vegan prepared meal service is a great option.
We love that these meals can be purchased in bulk and stored in the freezer, and are better for you and our environment. They are also preservative-free, made with 96% organic ingredients, and are packed with flavor, and are very filling. I highly recommend the Red Curry with Tofu, the Spanish Torta, and the Tortilla Chili as they were all delicious.
And while we found these vegan prepared meals to be very tasty, you should know that Veestro recommends various cooking methods for reheating which could take more time to prepare, and some need to be thawed in the fridge overnight.
Compared to other prepared meal services that we’ve reviewed, the cost of Veestro vegan meals is in the middle of the price range, but they do have a very large menu.
If you are looking for an easy way to work more plant-based food into your diet Veestro is a great solution.
